Instructors

THE ACADEMY CURRENTLY HAS A TEAM OF 6 INSTRUCTORS – 3 ARE FULL TIME AND 3 ARE PART TIME.  ALL ARE ACCREDITED ROYAL YACHTING ASSOCIATION INSTRUCTORS.

SYLVESTER THOMAS – SAILING MANAGER
Sylvester has been with the Academy since 2012, prior to which he worked at  Jolly Harbour for a time and before that was a Senior Instructor at Sunsail Club Colonna. He has recently attended a World Sailing Scholarship in the UK and now manages the Water Sports Centre and team at the academy.
JOSHUA DANIELS – DEPUTY SAILING MANAGER 

Joshua graduated from All Saints Secondary School in 2015. Since then he has qualified as a Dinghy Sailing Instructor and, in 2019, has qualified as a Senior Instructor.   Joshua has also gained his RYA Day Skipper Licence and has also now gained his RYA Coastal Skipper Licence.  He is the Deputy Sailing Manager at the Academy.

TONY ISAAC – INSTRUCTOR   

Tony has also been with the Academy since 2012 and was also previously at Sunsail Club Colonna. He is an instructor and also responsible for boat maintence.

MAURICESON VALENTINE – INSTRUCTOR 

Mauriceson is ex-Irene B. Williams Secondary School and has been working as an instructor for less than a year. In that time he has passed his RYA Dinghy Instructor and his RYA Day Skipper as well as his STCW in Fire Safety.  He is also the reigning Caribbean Dinghy Championship RS Feva Champion.

JUNELLA KING – INSTRUCTOR
 

Junella is an ex-All Saints Secondary School pupil and this year has passed her RYA Dinghy Instructor and his RYA Day Skipper. She was also the 5th member of Team Island Girls who rowed across the Atlantic.

 

XAVIER ATHILL – INSTRUCTOR 

Xavier is an ex-All Saints Secondary School pupil and this year has passed his RYA Dinghy Instructor and his RYA Day Skipper.
